A Game of Thrones: The Graphic Novel, Vol. 1
Beautiful artwork, vibrant colors perfectly suited to every setting, and a story line that does about as well as it can considering the complexity of Martin's novel. If you haven't read the novels yet and are planning to, I would recommend doing that first. I noticed at least one tidbit in the graphic novel that wasn't revealed until A Storm of Swords. It may be a minor thing but the revelation floored me in the novel when I finally got to it and I think of it as a spoiler when it is revealed so early in the graphic novel. All in all, the adaptation in this medium is as successful as the HBO series. I look forward to the next volume.
